On 6 December 2019 the South Coast British Columbia Transport (TransLink) released its RFP for the supply and delivery of three (3) shunters, for use at BCRTC’s (British Columbia Rapid Transit Company Ltd.) maintenance facilities in order to move Consists around and over short distances.
Felix won the contract and is going to deliver three electric-remote rail-road shunters which are designed and manufactured by its partner, Bemo Rail, on April 2021.
Road-rail vehicles are shunting locomotives that can switch between moving on rails and moving on road. This comes in handy when on the company premises there are various tracks and no connections between those tracks. Or when the connection is far from the location and transportation is faster by road.
